About the Artist
Introduction
Freda studied art with one of the leading South African artists, Cecily Sash, but decided to make her career in nursing. While working part-time as a clinical midwifery teacher, she became a skilled silversmith, sculptress, watercolour artist and portrait painter. She retired from nursing in 1992. Today she paints in all media, and is one of the most versatile artists in the country, and is a sought after teacher and demonstrator.
